How to track visitor clicks using heatmaps
September 19, 2008 on 2:09 pm | In General | 4 CommentsIf you do any online advertising using banners or text links or adsense then you will know how powerful this tracking using heatmaps can be.
Here is the link to the awsome service that is crazyegg.com
[UPDATE] – I’ve just learned that CrazyEgg is not FREE as it was last week (great timing that they should drop their free limited accounts). Never fear, I’m investigating alternatives. The principle that I cover is the main thing here.
Let me know your thoughts and if you have used a heatmap tracking service before what benefits you got from it.

This is a cool looking tool.
And you can’t beat the price, FREE.
I’ll be sure to try this one out.
Aaron, thanks for sharing this

I did test Crazyegg a year ago or so, but it made my website load so slow I removed the code from my website.
The ide is cool and very useful indeed though.

Thanks for the comment Susanne, but I didn’t notice any slowing of the load times. Maybe they have enhanced their code over the last year.

I’ve just learned that CrazyEgg is no longer offering free limited accounts. They have moved to a paid subscription model only.
Never fear I’m investigating alternatives and will report back with my findings.
